Hi Helen, please use google earth to find there is some part of the car park which is either designated for or just naturally occupied by a campers/motorhomes, so car park is capable for a bigger vans but I am not sure whether they will allow you to stay overnight. Not really a problem if they close it down at certain time and then open in the morning but it’s about the permission. Please notice that this car park is free to use and they did not ask for buying a parking ticket, so the control over what’s going on the car park is pretty limited by the museum administrators. In my opinion, the whole of the Normandy coast is a memorial to American soldiers as well as all the other nations who took part. Did you not visit the US cemetery at Colville ?

I am unsure what you are referring to, but the Memorial is a museum and its well worth visiting. They have a holocaust and a cold war display and it was so informative. Just make sure you use the listening device, as otherwise you end up reading alot, and it is small type and fairly dark
