How long will it take to view everything? Would we need a couple of hours of a full day?

From as soon as it opens until it shuts, went yesterday with my partner, who had to read every single freaking bit! Because of that we missed out on something else we had booked! So …

Previous reviewers recommend the airshard or viewing platform but when I visited today there was no mention of this or access to it. I didn't have much time so didn't ask and spent the time in the exhibition but is the viewing platform still open?
