The cable lift has a wheel chair platform to the right of the steps facing and Mother of Georgia is accessible There is a road that leads up so you could get to the bottom of the fortress entrance area But even able bodied have a steep incline to access the fort and good shoes are advisable although once inside people of determination and their support could access the church But the fort is all rocky paths and in places scrabbling over the terrrain and broken battlements Dot the cable car for sure AND enjoy much

The cable car is taken from rike park, you can buy a 2 way ticket (up and down for 2 gel). We took a cable car to go up and used steps to get back down. I guess it's best combination to get to see the best out of the city from the cable car and the fortress on foot
