I live 1 block off the Strip for 15 years and have a few locals places you may like: Trocadero (at Sunset and Sweezer); you must go to 'El Compadre' restaurant, located in the 7600 block of Sunset, just down from the strip but the best scene in LA, and the decor hasn't changed in years but its the best Mexican food you can find in the world. You will ALWAYS see someone famous in there. For happy hour you can drop by Cabo Cantino for 2-for-1 drinks, which is on the other side of the street from Trocadero.#R# Enjoy!
