LAUSANNE, Switzerland — The World Aquatics governing body of swimming has eased rules that now allow approved athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete in team events at international meetings.

Athletes from Russia and Belarus, if approved to compete as neutral athletes, can now form swimming relays, synchronized diving pairs and artistic swimming duets and teams at World Aquatics events.
