Feudal Society on the new tech beta : r/Stellaris - Reddit
BUT feudal society has suffered greatly.... I have around 10 vassals, all who were released sectors of mine occupying 1-3 systems total. Only 2 of them are loyal even with the shared destiny perk and feudal society civic. I think it would make sense for vassals and overlords who BOTH have feudal society to be exempt from divided patronage.

2023年7月28日 · Feudal Society nullifies the upkeep for Governor type leaders only. The other types still have the same upkeep. Leaders are not free, but at 50% discount. The advantage of Feudal Society over Shared Destiny are: it provides an additional +1 loyalty on top of nullifying multiple subject penalties.

At least Feudal Society got a little bonus after the nerf. Shared Destiny, on the other hand... Overall it's a good change, but I think the two things that got nerfed need a little bit more to make them worth taking. Especially the ascension perk, because man. I mean, Envoys were even nerfed this patch!

2020年3月10日 · I suppose in either case, the Feudal Society civic is worth even less than before. With improved AI, perhaps vassals themselves will become more useful. However, the decreased subject power penalty hardly matters anyway, so you could play a vassal-focussed empire without taking this civic quite easily.
How does the Feudal Society civic play out in practice?
Feudal is also the only way I know thus far that makes a 1 system play through possible. Food is minimal, and getting tributary after tributary can cover your economy for the most part. So Materialist feudal playthroughs can be crazy good. The big barrier that a lot of people on here seem to have is not knowing about the vassal/tributary casus ...

2023年5月14日 · For for reasons I fail to understand, feudal society was buffed: you no longer need to employ it's governors to receive their free unity generation. Because their governors are free of upkeep costs (even if you are waaaay over your leader cap)...
Something I noticed about the civic in Feudal Society in 3.3.1
2022年2月24日 · As displayed in the image, with Feudal Society, Leaders (Scientist, Governors, Admirals, and Generals) won't have upkeep if they're employed, with Governors giving 1.1 Unity per level. So now in my Divine Empire, I have some 10 scientists employed in my ships, losing no unity for upkeep and simply switching my scientists for the techs I want.
