2010年11月19日 · Hey guys, I was wondering how much a regular ole 355 small block would benefit from a 4/7 swap than a standard cam grind. A few specs... ~12:1 comp ~AFR 220's ~Solid Roller cam ~Victor Jr intake ~about a 200 shot of juice The reason I am asking is the difference in price would be about 100 bucks more for a 4/7 swap cam grind.

2009年10月11日 · I think the 4/7 swap might be best suited to tunnel rams with their long plenums. Think of 1 and 2 as the front cylinders, 3, 4, 5, and 6 as the middle cylinders, and 7 and 8 as the back cylinders. Then start the 4/7 swap order with 8, and you get 8-7-3-6-5-4-2-1.

2013年6月7日 · What you are doing when swapping 43 and 72 is lessening the harmonic vibrations in the crank, as well as eliminating the hot spot created when cylinders 5 and 7 fire consecutively (a 4-7 swap moves this hot spot to 2-4 cylinders, closest to the waterpump thus helping 5-7 keep cooler). A 4-7 swap moves the hot spot and 43-72 swap eliminates it.

2016年5月9日 · If you need a new cam, go with the LS(4,3/7,2) swap. It's not going to gain you power, but it's smoother, and puts less stress on the crank. On any of the firing orders, you are firing both cylinders back to back on 3 of the 4 crank throws. The LS firing order moves that to the back 3 throws, where the crank has more bearing area to deal with it.

It does move the pair of cylinders that fire close together in the firing order (5 and 7) over to 4 and 2. Putting a supposedly hot spot near 5 and 7 closer to the water pump.
