But what do you put on it? Man, BMW just started throwing up on themselves here. There's too much clutter and too many steps between finding the feature, adjusting the feature then, backing out of the feature to see idrive 8 as superior here. There's just, more. That said, where idrive8 is too busy, idrive 7 is a bit bleak on the features and apps.

2023年7月15日 · My dad's car had this same problem few months back. Tried all these other tricks but nothing helped. My dad drove the car to independent BMW specialist shop, they updated the idrive firmware and idrive started working again, no problems since then. BMW dealer would only change the whole idrive unit which is very expensive.

As someone who shopped for a new BMW, I hated iDrive 8. Give me dials, give me a shift lever, give me buttons. As someone who bought a new BMW and has had it for a couple months now… it’s rather nice: the shifter was really just a legacy item from manual transmission so the new switch was pretty easy to get used to
