2021年6月18日 · I'd love to expand on this setup with an SUV tent, but I'm unimpressed or at least skeptical by what's on the market. Most options are made by companies I don't trust and have lackluster reviews. To complicate things, my Kia Soul does not have a roof rack, so effectively strapping down an SUV tent could be an issue.

Some holes are too deep to enter head on but if you can find an angled entry and exit they perform great. My friend with a 2006 outback tows a small campervan and they love it too. Best features are price, reliability and go almost anywhere.

2024年3月18日 · Outback Wilderness. Just got one and ticked the boxes. For camping - you can pitch a tent on the roof as it holds 700lbs static weight. You can buy that tent when you buy the car / it’s an option! Extra lift and redesigned front and back allows for much better clearance. Damn comfortable ride too and good gas mileage.

2022年5月24日 · The bigger the vehicle the more comfortable it will be for camping, but also worse on gas. Something you can lay down fully in is definitely a plus though. I have a wagon with a ski box and it works well for me. Auto vs manual makes no difference for camping but it makes for more fun on the way to the camp site

2017年11月9日 · Best suv to lift is a wrangler. Tons of aftermarket support. But it’s not as smooth to drive. An FJ cruiser is a good balance between a jeep and 4 runner but I’ve heard they have reliability issues. A toyata land cruiser would be the king of suv camping/offroading suvs but good luck finding one.
