At that time closed cell foam was rated with a number system. 1510 was very soft and used over denser stuff (1526) for seat backs and head rest. 1510 was also used for arm rest, in 4" thickness. 1024 is very stiff and was used for the structural sections of the base.

In order to fit a seat belt regulator in the back of the seat (and not having it protrude from the rear) I need to make room for it. I've considered late model GM seats but I don't think they will look right in the car.

2007年5月10日 · The seat back and bottoms are contoured more like a modern seat and will be padded with a couple of inches of foam. (This is just the first layer. Bottom layers are gonna be dense, top layers something more cushy) Doing the seat like this gains a bunch of interior space over the stock set-up.

All car upholstery is held on with "hog rings", little steel wires that clamp through the upholstery onto the wire frame underneath.

2018年5月29日 · My purchased seat covers are made with .25" foam backing (.5" at center section of rear seat). After further research (and generous input as from this thread) it seems I should adjust this a bit. If sticking with a burlap deck, .5" rebond foam may be a better second layer to, as you note, provide better support for the main layer of foam.

2019年4月29日 · Basically drill the 4 mounting holes. The Chevy seat riser is good on the F100 too. The seats headrests pull out easily, leaving two small round registers per side. However, In my opinion, when you sit in the seat “well” in the proper place to be centered on the steering wheel in the Chevy, you are not centered on the wheel in the F100.
