The Cathedral Quartet, often referred to as “The Cathedrals,” was a prominent name in Southern Gospel music, known for their impactful ministry and memorable performances. They began their career in 1963 as the Cathedral Trio, featuring Glen Payne as lead singer, Bobby Clark as tenor, and Danny Koker as baritone.

[3] The group's final lineup consisted of Glen Payne (lead), George Younce (bass), Ernie Haase (tenor), Scott Fowler (baritone and bass guitar), and Roger Bennett (piano and rhythm guitar).

This lineup of the Cathedral Quartet—with Ernie Haase singing tenor, Glen Payne singing lead, Scott Fowler singing baritone, George Younce singing bass, and Roger Bennett playing piano—lasted through the Cathedrals’ retirement.
