The 7-8 month old woolly mammoth calf, "Dima," was discovered on June 23, 1977, by Siberian strip miner Anatoly Logachev. The body was discovered, frozen and well-preserved, near the Kolyma River in northeastern Siberia. At death, Dima weighed about 220lbs and was 41 inches tall and 45 inches long.
