2023年5月30日 · Here's an update. I now have the FlightSimBuilder GNS 530/430 and it works great. I also have the RealityXP updated GNS 530 and I'm pretty happy with it. The only issue I had was I still had the bezel on the FSB unit, but just the other day I found the fix for that.

2024年3月14日 · I have been searching for a plugin for a more realistic GNS 430 plugin? I don't want to add hardware. I would prefer to use the pc based 430. But, the stock version is lacking quite a bit of functionality compared to the one in my training aircraft. I have tried to get he "Reality XP" plugin, but I think something is wrong with the site.

2021年5月16日 · FYI: I'm going from distant memory, but your 430 has the correct TSO 129a to go IFR and there is a Garmin STC for the 430 however it was just for a single Piper model. If I recall we simply got a copy of that 430 STC, Garmin AFM supplement, 430 install instructions and installed the unit accordingly.

You're right that the CDI of the instrument seems to match the CDI of the 430 in the screenshot, however the needle of the instrument doesn't move even though the CDI on the 430 is accurate as I fly around my course line. Hitting the GPS button on the 430 doesn't seem to affect anything on the CDI instrument.
What steps to get my non-WAAS 430 IFR certified?
2016年11月4日 · If I'm not mistaken, all GNS-430's are certified for IFR en-route and approach. Are the terrain and route databases up to date? If the previous driver wasn't updating them that could explain it. Also, the placard might predate the 430. The previous advice to check with a shop makes sense.

I update the NAV data every cycle to stay current for IFR, and update the obstacles and terrain every year or so. Garmin still provides NAV data for the GNS-430W. Is the GNS-430 (non-WAAS) treated differently?
