2008年6月27日 · Thinking ahead, is it possible or practical to build and install a hearth pad over carpeting? The room the stove is going into is 17 x 16 with a-non-permanently installed carpet that is trimmed about 8-10" from each wall, with carpet pad underneath. The stove is going in a corner, facing 45 deg into the room.

Copper sheet for hearth pad and heat shield
2024年8月14日 · The pad should at minimum be 40" long (front to back, with 16" in front). and 25" wide (6" in each side). I note that the table says 6" to the sides, the text says 8" to the side. The latter is in the table only for Canada. So it's not clear to me what the US should be. Better safe than sorry, I'd say.

2007年12月5日 · As I know has been mentioned in other threads here, the current Vermont Castings Encore manual states, "For installation with the heat shield attached, use an approved 1/2” (13 mm) noncombustible hearth pad with k = 0.84 BTU in/ft2 hr °F or an equivalent material with an R-value of at least 0.59.
