I don't think the plasma generated by the Keldysh device is of particularily high temperature, the added IR signature may actually be no more than that of a fluorescent office bulb, the real trouble is that it will make the aircraft glow like one!

Even the first units with plasma stealth might be detectible by large powerful radars, but small radars (like in the nose of an AMRAAM) might be defeatable.

2004年5月4日 · Theoretically, the advantage of plasma stealth technology is that you can take a conventional aircraft that would normally have a high radar cross section but use plasma to significantly reduce the RCS since plasma reflects radar energy much like a current stealth aircraft would. A plane using plasma could be built much like an F-15 or Su-27 ...

2003年9月11日 · Garry i don't think we're saying plasma stealth generates IR, rather it's an "active" rather than "passive" device. Meaning there's a signature involved. If their is a signal its most likely to come from the actaul ion emitters. If it works similar to a TEM or even an SEM then i presume getting the ions out would require a frequancy.
