Savage 12 Benchrest in 308 Win
2021年4月8日 · I recently shortened the butt on a factory Savage BVSS laminated stock. Pretty much as alinwa described except I loped a full inch off at one time as I knew where I wanted to end up. Used my 10 inch Dewalt miter saw with a fine toothed panel cutting blade with blue painters tape wrapped around the stock and the stock well supported in the saw.

2023年12月9日 · About six weeks ago I posted about a new Savage 12 Benchrest .308 that I had just purchased. It had a really ugly bore so I submitted a request for service to Savage. Getting no response after a couple weeks I called and was immediately sent a return label by the excellent Taylor Davis. A few days ago I received the rifle back with a new barrel.

I would appreciate if anyone has any experience with either gun or any comments or recommendations on the two different stocks and calibers. Basically the action is the same for each gun only the stocks are different.

2009年10月29日 · Savage model 12 in 308 I have a Savage M12 in 308 and it shoots one ragged hole with several different hand loads at a 100 yards, and just made a 810 yard shot with it using 178 A-max bullets. Don't be afraid to work this rifle as I have put 20 rounds down the pipe and it barely gets warm.

2013年6月12日 · Savage 12 223 Update Thanks to all that replied. I found some Hogden BL-C(2) powder CCI BR4 primers and Lapua brass. I neck turned them to .010 wall thickness and neck sized them .002 under. I shot 5 sets of 5 shots each from 25g to 27g. My rifle seamed to like 27g.

2010年7月30日 · Savage target triggers.. First, none of the Savage or aftermarket triggers are on a par with Jewel, Shilen, Kelbly triggers. The savage Target accutrigger needs to be broken in and will need constant adjustment for the first 1500 rounds. They also become irratic set below 8 oz. The Rifle Basix Sav-2 will go lighter than the Savage Accutrigger.

Never cared for the idea of chewing up expensive 6BR Lapua brass trying to get it to feed from a mag. All loads (I roll all my own ammo) are built with the bullets seated .010 into the lands.
