2011年12月1日 · The PPK/S had begun production in 1968 (for export to U.S. by Interarms) at Manurhin (France) under license by Walther (with German markings) only in .380 ACP prior to 1972. So your 1972-purchased PPK/S would be blued steel, manufactured between 1968-1972 and a very nice high-quality gun, but would not be so rare.

German Walther .380 PPK/s pistols are all in the 800000 serial number range with no prefix/suffix. Interarms US built Walther licensed .380 PPK/s pistols, have no prefix or suffix when carbon steel and an "S" prefix when in stainless steel.
