I suspect (hope) there will be an easy solution for this. Out of nowhere my Word Document format changed. I will attach what it looks like now. I have tried to fix this is numerous ways: printing a PDF has the same effect as 'save as' PDF, I have systematically copied or rewritten the document into a new template and so on, but nothing works.
Word formats entire document when trying to format just a line
Word bolds the entire document. Why? Thankfully, when I "Undo" the action, the formatting of the whole document is unbolded while the formatting of the line remains. If I select only the words of the paragraph and hit bold, then no problem—only the words are bolded. But if the whole paragraph is selected, then the whole document is formatted.
Word doc looks different when emailed and opened
When i save a .doc it looks correct (how I want it) - when i attach it to an email and recipient opens it in Word - some of formatting has changed (including font sizes (in text box) and page numbering); this seems to happen to both Word 2007 and Word 2010 recipients. Others however can open it and it is ok.
