If you go round the back of Kilmartin Church in Argyll and step inside an old Campbell burial Isle, then you’ll find something pretty incredible. A series of sculpted graveslabs, dating from the 900s onwards, depicting warriors in mail, enormous claymore swords and intricate weaving knotwork. The Old Kilmadock cemetery lies to the north west of Doune and is not easy to find.
