While you might think an empty hot tub will protect it from freezing damage, it’s actually the opposite. After draining your hot tub, there is still water in the jets, filter well, and pipes. And that can crack and expand if left in the cold. If you have to change out your water during freezing temperatures, do it in batches. Remove 6-12 inches of water at a time. T
